…Room 31!!!

Fancy a new look for summer? Why not save a trip out to the high street (in the unseasonal rain) and visit online fashion retailer,  Room 31 instead! I love the layout of this website, everything is so accessible and also so affordable! The style room pages are a must, keeping up with the latest season trends. Festival Fever! gave me brilliant ideas for my clothing choices for Wireless Festival last weekend; and the way the website as a whole is separated into different garments and accessories enables my trips to the website for a browse hassle free!

The Room 31 blog also deserves a mention, with up to date information on new season’s must haves as well as a personal touch to the website. I found this a great read! I think blogs really help to an establish a small business with an identity, an individual behind the brand name.

…Tree’Bon!!!

Dainty Dolly Mix is back with lots of sweet treats in store for you in the coming months! So why don’t we start off with a business that is full to the brim of sweet treats!

Clicking onto this website was a gift in itself. The beautiful design of this website shows off their products beautifully. Tree’Bon is a range of sweet gifts, including bespoke sweet trees! This is something I had never come across before but their designs are wonderful! Ranging from pastel coloured flying saucers, to cadburys creme eggs, to squidgy pink marshmellows to colourful licquorice allsorts! There is something for the sweet lover in all of us, even if you only favour one type of sweet.

May 21st 2012 – Featured business of the week is…

…Bcre8ive Dolls!

What started out as a hobby has turned into a truly wonderful gift idea. These little dolls will brighten anyone’s day, with cheerful faces and colourful outfits.

I first met this family of dolls at a local craft fair and as something I have never come across before I think they’re wonderful!

They’re also developing a range of school uniform dolls. A special present for your little one’s first day at school. 10% of each sale goes towards each local school’s funds to provide them with a better future.

My favourite dolls are the bride and groom. There’s also an expectant mother and baby too, so they’re perfect for a unique gift for any celebration!

…Milly J’s Shoe Designs!

These extraordinary shoes are like no others I have ever seen on the mass market. To say they’re unique would be an understatement. Words alone cannot do them justice, so I have included a few images of the range of editions below.

In my three years at university I tried desperately to solve the debate over whether fashion could ever be seen as art. These shoes provide substantial evidence that in fact they can, being described as ‘art to wear’ or as a ‘sculpture’. Every single pair has an individual idea, an individual concept, which is what I love so much about these designs.

There is something for everyone, from the music lover to those who want to advertise their twitter account on their heels. From the artist to the sweet treats admirer, each pair has such great care and attention taken to make every detail of the shoe perfect.

These shoes come at a price, but I would say for their delicate features alone, they are worth every penny! Beware though, as once purchased, people may be talking to your feet instead of your face a lot more!

Rain rain go away…

Everyone seems to be getting fed up of all this rain. There comes a point, when you just can’t take it anymore, you have to reach for your trusty umbrella and wellies and brave the elements. Have you found that your cheap umbrella cannot cope with more than a light breeze? I feel like I constantly battle with mine, whether it refuses to stay up, or a sudden gust causing it to go inside-out, it drives me mad!

It has reached that point where I need something a bit sturdier, so I will save up a few extra pennies and invest in a lovely new brolly from Love Umbrellas. A lovely gift for the home by Random Button is the custom made lavender heart selection. These are beautifully made, filled with dried lavender, leaving your home and linen smelling lovely!

…Random Button!!!

Handmade and British for You or Your Home!!! That’s what sums up this gorgeous typical English countryside business. They stock a range of products suitable for a lovely round of afternoon tea, including Cake Stands, Cushions and Decorations to beautiful ribbon bracelets and vintage tea cup pincushions. As everyone knows, I love a bit of vintage! This shop couldn’t be more perfect!

I love the selection of colours on their online shop as well, ranging from neutral light colours, pale blues and pale pinks. They’re gorgeous accessories for lightening up a typical English cottage! I Heart London

London seems to be trending everywhere this year! 2012 is home to the city of London, hosting the summer olympic games and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. London will be welcoming thousands of international visitors this year, an extra special time for small businesses to boom.
